ABOUT MTA
MTA Goals: To satisfy a private sector demand for a skilled trained workforce. Create a cycle where motivated individuals can develop skills to prepare for, obtain and keep productive and financially rewarding jobs in the manufacturing, construction and energy industry. Serve as a leading source for certification and continuous career development in manufacturing technology and other vocations. The Metropolitan Training Alliance (MTA) is the outgrowth of the St. Louis County Economic Council manufacturing training program established in 1998 at the St. Louis County Metropolitan Employment & Training (MET), a state-of-the-art facility located in Wellston, Missouri. Founded in 2003 to continue to address the increasingly critical shortage of skilled workers in the advanced manufacturing industry, MTA offers the following training programs: An Industrial Certification Program (ICP)that provides industry related training and credentials in computer fundamentals, shop math, blueprint reading, precision measuring, warehouse operation, OSHA industrial safety, Work-Keys and DOE Energy Efficiency; Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machining; Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC); Carpentry Building Maintenance/Repairer; Building Analyst/Energy Auditor The Metropolitan Training Alliance (MTA) works in partnership with Ranken Technical College. Ranken has listed all of the MTA programs under their Continuing Education Department and have agreed to provide college credit for the successful completion of the MTA program. In a Memorandum of agreement Ranken has agreed to provide financial aid processing for all participants that qualify for financial assistance. Ranken has also agreed to mentor MTA during 2013 in becoming nationally accredited. 
 MTA also works in partnership with Southwestern Illinois College, St. Louis Community College, community and faith-based organizations, Missouri Career Centers, Illinois WorkNet Centers, high schools, government and employers to recruit assess, enroll, train and place MTA graduates on jobs with benefits.
